JIG-SAW Received NOA from USPTO for Computer Vision Technology. A Technology Indispensable for the Improvement of Image Generation AI

Tokyo, Japan – JIG-SAW INC.(hereinafter “JIG-SAW”) announces that it has received a Notice of Allowance (NOA) and Fee(s) Due from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a patent relating to an image processing program that uses computer vision technology which is an application of the theory behind how humans perceive color, and the program can be widely used in the field of image and video processing.
After a specified registration procedure, a patent for the new technology will be established in the United States, following Japan.

Today, with conventional image processing technologies, the brightness of the entire image is changed.*1 Because of this, data such as images and video become blurry or color-distorted, even data that humans should naturally be able to perceive. As AI-based recognition and enhancement technologies advance, expectations regarding the accuracy of images are growing. However, the accuracy of the detection of people and objects may deteriorate in bad conditions such as low light, haze and backlighting. This often results in the generation of unexpected data which is hard to evaluate using AI technologies alone, depending on the purpose for which you are using the data.
The patented technology uses a unique algorithm related to computer vision to process data in the signal control area, and it analyses data, processing and converting in units of pixels. This uniformly processes the entire data’s pixel values and makes it possible to display data that is equal to the information originally perceived by human vision, even in bad conditions.
It is assumed the patented technology will be an omnidirectional cross platform*2 technology intended to, as multipurpose software, efficiently enhance the visibility of data on smartphones, commercially available and less expensive webcams, distributed devices, semiconductors, displays, and other devices.
The goal is to have people in many different industries and sectors use the patented technology as technology that is indispensable in the processing of images and image generation AI in the future.
